En route to Mykonos

We decided to take the slow ferry to Mykonos,

stopping overnight in Paros.  We wanted to see what we might be missing in islands en route....not much we decided later!

Our first stop was at Therasia...... the other side of the Caldera to Oia.
passing the volcano en route............................................................

Then on to Folegandros............. a very small island....

which had obviously had hopes of benefiting from the housing boom....

Then surprisingly we found ourselves docking at Sikonos..
This was the island where we saw an ad in Athens for a RE deal at 18,500 euros.

After seeing the island, admittedly from a boat, we think it would be difficult not to have a view! So presumably having a (functioning??) WC was the key word in the ad!

We didn't feel the need to get off the boat to check the place out..........

And we decided that 18,500 euros was very, very optimistic!

We passed by Ios... party island!....

 and Naxos........

Paros was somewhat interesting!  We stayed overnight in Naoussa......

Paros is where Parian marble is from..........Venus de Milo!

This actually is a cute small fishing village.......

which is probably changing quite rapidly.  I cannot imagine what the narrow streets are like when it is high season!

 Lots of churches........

We had a drink at water's edge........

with a view....

And we tried one of the recommended restaurants......

where we did have some very good fresh fish......

and found ourselves surrounded by cats!  We were eating in the street!

We were happy to be moving on to Mykonos........
 and I love cats!....................
