On to Sucre.... the colonial capital

A quick (very early!)morning flight from La Paz allows one to check out the beautiful old colonial city of Sucre, the capital of the country and founded in 1538!

Again the chosen hotel, the Parador Santa Maria was amazing....... just off the Plaza in the historic centre.

Exploring the 15th C city was interesting......

Their Eiffel Tower was  apparently  built from scraps from the original Eiffel Tower!

......and they were into a French theme.... their Arc de Triomphe!

in front of their Supreme Court of Justice ........

and of course we had to check out the market!

It was a long walk uphill to check out the view from the El Mirador on Recoleta hill......

But the view was worth it!

We took a slightly easier way down!

It was a Monday........weekly closure of most good restaurants 😓😓

But no problem... the hotel rooftop bar/restaurant was open! With a view!!
