Bolivia......starting in La Paz

Getting to Bolivia this year was a little difficult. My initial reservation on COPA was made because they had lie flat business seats on their new 737 Max 9 fleet. But after the Alaska accident where the plug in door in the fuselage blew out in flight and these were banned for use in the US until fully investigated! So back up plans needed to be quickly implemented!

There are not too many flights directly into La Paz......just through Lima and Bogota.  Most arrive and leave very early morning! So my flight arrived at 2am!

The chosen hotel, the Atix, was fabulous.........

....with lots of interesting art by Gaston Ugalde......

After a long layover in Bogota exploring La Paz  on day one did not seem like a great idea! So a local lunch spot was an attractive option.......

There was quite a lot of interesting architecture in the area.......

.......dinner was on the 38th floor of a local building, the Green Tower, in Chalet La Suisse, a restaurant with a view.........
