Tunis, Tunisia

Tunisia has been on my list of places to visit for a while........so here I am!

First a visit to the Medina to start getting to know the city......

..... on to the souks!

The following day a  day trip to Dougga was a must.......... this is an amazingly preserved Roman city from the second century allowing one to fully imagine how people lived at that time.

Below was the main brothel......
...with a directional sign or two!

.....even the public 12 seater latrine was there to be seen!

An amazing day!

On the way back we checked out  Testour.... with its Andalusian architecture.

....and its clock face which is labeled a little differently! The locals in the 15th C had heard that the Muslims who were coming wrote right to left so the hours were done anti clockwise!

...

Next outing was to Majaz al Bab to visit a farm....with a visit to a local market and a cooking class!

Back at the farm we got to see their chicks! Thankfully not on the menu!

I can absolutely recommend a rooftop restaurant in the Dar el Jeld  boutique hotel in Tunis!

Great views, food and wine!
