A few days in Nepal.....

We left Kathmandu via  the Pashupatinath Temple..... a  large complex where cremations take place.
Local sacred men, the Sadhus, watch the ceremonies from the opposite bank......
So did we........

and then on to Bhaktapur......
to check out another Durbar Square...  showing evidence of the 2015 earthquake!
The Golden gate entry to the main Palace temple...

Then on to the Taumadhi square......more down to earth than the palace area....... and with the tallest Temple/Pagoda in Nepal!

This was actually quite sleepy in comparison to the palace area...... just a regular market square!

Then on to the Pottery square....

It was on the way to staying in the Himalayas... so a little off the beaten track!
We were going to stay in the Club Himalaya hotel where we would/could have beautiful views of the snowy mountains.....unfortunately the weather did not co-operate!
The road up to the hotel was interesting......
....but the views were fantastic........

We got to do a little hiking....and saw how devastating the 2015 earthquake had been for the locals....

Lots of people are still living in temporary accommodation.
... these people were displaced from their original home...no longer safe.....
We did not stop at any of the fast food places en route!
