I have wanted to visit Greece for many years..... finally made it!
We decided to stay at the Royal Olympic Hotel because of its location, basically around the corner from the base of the Acropolis.
Our view at dinner last night was superb.....
And in daylight the view we had for breakfast was even better!
We set off early to check out the New Acropolis Museum which is fabulous.
Then we slowly went up to the Parthenon, quite a steady climb....
Although it is late September it is still quite hot but thankfully we didn't have to contend with the number of tourists who visit during the summer months.
We descended into the very nice Plaka district for lunch.....
We were given a balcony to ourselves...
and the food and wine were great......
And for coffee afterwards we went around the corner......
And listened to some musicians practicing!
And we have decided we should invest in real estate on the Greek Isles.....
need to look up Sikinos...... to see where it might be. But it has a sea view!!
